For many people, the holidays are a time to see family and spend time with those crazy relatives you only see this time of year. Yes, it is fun to see everyone, but sometimes, it's just easier to stay at home with the family you see every day, or used to see every day.
As we get older, we start to go our separate ways on our own adventures. This is the time to explore before we settle down and begin our careers. So sometimes, it's just nice to be with your parents, siblings, and grandparents (and a couple cousins). Holidays shouldn't be stressful. They're a time for happiness and a time to appreciate the ones around you who mean the most. When it is possible to do so, the holiday season becomes a good time.
This year, I was fortunate enough to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with the ones who mean the most to me without any stress or drama. It was a good holiday season that isn't over yet (we still have the new year to celebrate), and it really made me appreciate how lucky I am. This is one of the first years in a while that I can say I was truly happy for the holidays and didn't have to deal with the normal stress that can come with holidays when you have two houses where you are wanted. I am thankful for that. This year restored my hope in the future and the joy of holidays.
So, these moments of happiness are the ones I'll hold onto for years to come because I know that happiness is not something to take for granted.
Also, with recent tragedies occurring (may angels lead you in and may your family have support and love at this time), please remember to hug your loved ones. You never know when your last day or their last day will be. Life is fragile. Be kind to one another. Don't keep what you want to say for another day.
One more thing, since I'm home for another few weeks, I'll be trying to post more. Thank you for reading my blog.
Merry Christmas! May the holidays bring comfort and joy.
